In 1994, Leann left a teaching career to start her first business, The Professional Connection. With quick success, she found herself being asked to help other organizations in various roles from providing leadership training for a state banking association to strategic planning for chambers of commerce to financial management for entrepreneurs. Because of referrals, her business as an “accidental business coach” quickly grew to the point that she sold The Professional Connection and launched her training company focused on helping organizations and entrepreneurs succeed. When she relocated to Alexandria in 2004, she was recruited to lead the American Red Cross of Central Louisiana. During her time as CEO, the Red Cross gained financial stability, recruited over 2000 volunteers, and moved from a very small office to a facility with more than 20,000 square feet--all while providing shelter to over 30,000 people during hurricanes; training more than 45,000 Central Louisianans in life-saving skills; and raising more than $2 million dollars in donations. After she fulfilled her commitment at the Red Cross, Leann decided to intentionally build a business focused on empowering entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams. Since 2011, MPowered Business has provided business coaching, project management, HR consulting, bookkeeping, team development, management training, mediation, and back office support to hundreds of entrepreneurs, businesses, and non-profits.

Graduated in 2018, Chasity went to LSU at Alexandria where she got a Bachelors in Business, concentrating in marketing. She worked at KLAX ABC 31 for three years where she worked with business owners from various industries. With previous experience of event planning and social media management, she uses those skills to manage MPowered Business's marketing.

It also brings her joy to ensure her clients are receiving quality service for their business's bookkeeping needs.

In October of 2020, Jenny started as Executive Assistant and quickly moved into the role of MPowered Bookkeeper as a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor. She loves the flexibility offered by the company, so that balancing her role at work and as mother of seven is easy to do. She enjoys getting to know local small business owners and working behind the scenes so they can focus on their talents. Jenny received an Associate degree from Northwestern State University and a Bachelor degree from LSU, and has resided in Alexandria for most of her life.

Emma started in June 2023 and quickly moved to MPowered Project Manager. She has enjoyed exploring several different fields of work before her role with us. She is able to see behind the scenes of how different companies operate and learned a lot through the everyday work within those businesses. Because she has always been interested in the business side of things, she intends on furthering her education in business one day as well. She loves working for MPowered because it has given her a lot of room for growth and opportunities.
